10-26-2005 GridPort v4.0 Released!

The GridPort Team is please to announce the release of GridPort v4.0. This new release contains a new set of demonstration portlets as well as standalone versions of the GridPort 4 web services.

The GridPort Portal
  • Portlet components provide basic grid access and capabilities including grid authentication, job submission, and file management
  • Ready to install with the GridSphere Portal Framework into a Tomcat web server.
  • Portal has been installed and tested on Linux (Red Hat, SUSE) with plans to support Windows and Mac OS X.
  • Based on user feedback, we have repackaged the software to make it easier to pick and choose what you want to install rather than having to install everything at once.
Related Standalone Services
  • The GPIR and CFT web services have been extracted from GridPort and can now be installed separately. We have also removed the JBoss dependency so that all service components install easily into Tomcat.
  • These services now include a ready-to-deploy lightweight Hypersonic SQL database that makes installing and using them easier than ever!
