GPIR Browser Portlet
The GPIR Browser Portlet enables a user to view information
about the resources in a grid, obtained from the
GridPort Information Repository (GPIR)
service. The Grid Portal Information Repository (GPIR)
includes both static and dynamic grid and systems data.
The static data includes a resource's institution and
department, name, system type, number of CPU's, peak
performance, memory, and disk space. Dynamic data includes
a resource's status, load, and number of jobs running.
This portlet provides the user with 2 views into the
information contained in GPIR:
- Systems view: summarizes both static and
dynamic data for each resource in the VO.
- Machine view: of the GPIR Browser displays
machine-specific information to the user. The GPIR
browser portlet allows a user to access various
types of information about resources in a particular
virtual organization (VO). A user may
access a resource's static information
, the resource's message of the day, and
a summary of all jobs in the resource's queue
(depending on whether or not this information
is being periodically ingested into the GPIR
service by GPIR information providers).
